Chilterns Woodland Project

The Chilterns AONB is heavily wooded with over 21% woodland cover, 60% of these woods are ancient. The Chiltern Woodlands Project, set up in 1989, aims to promote and encourage the sensitive and sustainable management of Chiltern woods in order to protect the landscape of the Chilterns and maintain and enhance its biodiversity.

In 2017-18 the project director advised 61 woodland owners across 1374 acres.
