AONB: Kent Downs

Landscape and Nature for All

The programme pulled together 14 UK partners to deliver significant site and species recovery work, research and community engagement, improving 1788 Ha on 151 Kent Downs sites, there were 60 community projects, 480 volunteers involved, 201 events supported and 2300 young people – there were 16 FTE jobs supported through this inspirational project.

Partners in the project ranged from the entirely voluntary Kent Reptile and Amphibian Group which secured more suitable habitat for the rapidly declining adder populations of Kent to the Woodland Trust which invested in the management of their woodland estate in the Kent Downs.
