Work to support the NAAONB
We are currently seeking four new trustees including a treasurer to serve on the board of the National Association for AONBs.
Are you passionate about landscapes in England, Wales and Northern Ireland? Have you found spending time in nature essential to coping in this pandemic? Are you concerned with the decline in our wildlife? Do you want to change things and apply your skills, expertise and knowledge? Then we might just be what you’re looking for!
The NAAONB is the leading charity that champions the 46 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. We are currently seeking four trustees including a new treasurer to strengthen our Board and equip us for the considerable challenges ahead facing some of our most iconic landscapes.
Our 46 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty are staffed by dynamic teams who are leading a collaborative effort to increase the scale and pace of their nature recovery work to create an interconnected, climate resilient nature-rich network for the nation. These teams are supported by the National Association of AONBs which is leading the collaboration, encouraging shared learning and challenge throughout the AONB network.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with an interest in ensuring our AONBs are landscapes for everyone regardless of ethnicity, class, gender, age and ability. We are particularly interested in improving representation of younger people and minority ethnic groups on our Board.
The NAAONB can have a maximum of nine trustees and we currently have four vacancies including the recruitment of a treasurer who will also act as Company Secretary. The Board of trustees is chaired by Philip Hygate. You can find out more about our current trustees on the website. Trustees are appointed for three year terms and can serve for a maximum of three consecutive terms.
