Jill is Director of Northern Heartlands – a three-year programme based in rural County Durham and one of 16 Great Place Schemes running in England. Jill is well known in theatre and arts communities in the North East and nationally; prior to her role with Northern Heartlands she worked with Arts Council England and for many years ran her own arts management business working with a wide variety of cultural organisations. With her first-hand knowledge of operational and organisational dynamics within the culture sector, and a strong track record in delivering community initiatives, Jill is a firm believer in the key role that culture, heritage and the arts can play in engaging communities and connecting people and places.
